mousesports have defeated ESC Gaming in the quarter-final of MSI BEAT IT 2011 with 2-0.
One of the two latter quarter-finals was the match surrounded by controversy due to mousesports allegedly "choosing" ESC Gaming as their opponents by losing their group decider against Lions without putting up much effort.
The battle started on de_dust2, where ESC Gaming won the right to begin the map on the favored T-side. However, it was mousesports who got off to a better start, as they quickly found themselves leading 6-2. By the end of the half, ESC managed to find their feet somewhat, taking an 8-7 lead eventually, which however couldn't have been very satisfying for them considering the map and the side.
After the sides were switched, the Swedish-Norwegian team won the pistol round and fended off the following two semi-buys by mousesports, which after an eco round meant they were up 12-7. Now fully equiped, mousesports got right back into the match, winning 6 rounds in a row before ESC retaliated to put the score to 13-13. ESC even took the lead shortly after the next round, but the German team won the last three rounds and closed the map with a 16-14 victory.
Second map was de_inferno, where the two teams once again played a very close first half, with mousesports coming out on top 9-6 as Terrorists. The German team increased their lead to 11-6 following the side swapping, but then ESC's star player Andreas "MODDII" Fridh won an incredible 1vs5 situation. However, that didn't lift his team, as they returned to losing rounds right away and mousesports brought this emotional match to a close with a 16-7 scoreline on de_inferno and 2-0 overall.
